*there's party time

He's TWO!
Will's 2nd birthday party had a Goldfish theme
Goldfish bar - the S'mores flavor was the favorite.

On Saturday we celebrated Will's birthday at our house with family and friends. It was such a nice day the kids got to play outside.

*there's the day before The Day

When I have said my evening prayer,
And my clothes are folded on the chair,
And mother switches off the light,
I'll still be 1 year old tonight.

But from the very break of day,
Before the children rise and play,
Before the darkness turns to gold,
Tomorrow, I'll be two years old.

Two kisses when I wake,
Two candles on my cake.

*there's an update

It's time to update you on Will's phobias. I know some of you have been very interested in this one so I need to make a change to the list. It appears that hats aren't a problem for him anymore and will be replaced with vacuums, mops, and brooms. Even when they are not in use.

So we now have:
*anything that cleans floors
 and
*balloons - This one has not been tested lately. The next time Will encounters a balloon I'll let you know how it goes.

Tooth update: A few days after Tooth 1 appeared Tooth 2 joined it and they both came in together. If I am ever able to get a picture of them I will share it as soon as possible.

Also, join me in wishing Will's dad Chris a Happy 32nd Birthday today!!

*there's Santa!

We attempted to get a picture with Santa on Saturday! We went to this year's holiday party at the hospital for families of kids with CHDs just like last year. It was a fun little party complete with cute kids, food, and crafts. I finally got a copy of this book I've been wanting and songs were led by Mark and Jay O'Shea...country artists from Austrailia that were on season 2 of a reality show on CMT called Can You Duet. Like Will, Mark has TOF. Here are some photos of the song portion of the day:

Our sweet friend Kobe Preston doted on Will the whole time. He showed him how to sing, he patted him on the leg, he patted him on the head, he patted him on the back, and he even showed him how to clap!

As the songs were winding down Will was just getting started with his own lyric shakin' screamfest!

 And here is Santa!
You can't tell by looking at this picture but Will is crying!
Santa was fine from a distance but sitting
down next to him was too much for Will.
This is the best (and only) picture of Will with Santa this year.
...notice Santa has removed his hat due to
one of Will's previously mentioned phobias...
 If only it had helped!

Go here to see what the visit with Santa looked like last year.

Back at home cuddling with Daddy:
And here is Mommy showing him his Baby's First Christmas ornament:

Recent news: Will's Mommy turned 35 yesterday!

*there's the party

Pictures from the party!
They are narrated with yet another poem,
but I promise its the last one for awhile.

  What unsuspecting miracle
Has passed through his first year?

Has circled round the smiling sun
To sit before us here?
What angel changeling changed our lives
Since he arrived from heaven,

Bringing home the ballyhoo
That rounds the gates of Eden?
What bright eternal soul have we
Since taken into time?
Have welcomed weeks and days
Still stunned by the sublime?
What love has love brought to this world?
What joy has pleasure wrought?
For this, our celebration, sings
Of far more than we sought.
